With IKEA’s delivery service, you can choose the delivery option that best suits you and your order. We offer different options depending on the size, weight, and nature of the shipment. Explore the main delivery options below.

IKEA now offers delivery service through Pósturinn

Pósturinn provides various options, for example for orders up to 20 kg that fit in parcel lockers located around the country, most of which are open 24/7. We also offer home delivery and delivery to your nearest post office across the country. Delivery costs are based on Pósturinn’s price list.

The longest side of a package must not exceed 180 cm.

Regional Deliveries Samskip

Shipping costs outside the capital area follow the rates listed at (www.samskip.is)

Shipments are delivered to the transport provider's warehouse. If you wish to have your order delivered to your doorstep, please contact Samskip directly. An additional fee will apply, as per their price list. At IKEA, we are committed to processing and shipping your orders as quickly as possible.

Delivery information - outside the Capital area

Most deliveries outside the capital area are sent to the transport provider´s warehouse. If a customer in that area wishes to have the order delivered to their home, they must contact Samskip directly and pay an additional fee according to Samskip´s price list.

In areas where the transport provider does not operate a warehouse or pickup location, all orders are delivered directly to the customer´s home. This affects the delivery fee charged by IKEA at the time of purchase. 

IKEA Capital Area

Deliveries under 900 kg are available at a fixed cost of ISK 9,500. For deliveries of 900 kg or more, the cost will follow IKEA's standard price list.

The home delivery service includes transport from IKEA to the customer’s location, with the driver placing the items at the building’s entrance or near the vehicle. To keep deliveries efficient, the recipient must be present during the scheduled delivery time. If no one is available, the items will be returned to IKEA. Please note, the driver is only responsible for transportation, and any damage or issues that occur after the items are unloaded are the recipient’s responsibility. Delivery is not available for assembled items.

For help carrying items into your home, we recommend hiring local moving services, where charges apply based on their rates.

Delivery time slots are available as follows:
Weekdays: 13:00-16:00, or 16:00-20:00
Weekends: 10:00-13:00 or 13:00-17:00
Unfortunately, we cannot provide more precise time estimates.

To ensure a smooth delivery process, the recipient must be available at the delivery time. If no one is present, the items will be returned to IKEA. The customer can retrieve them from IKEA or contact customer service to arrange a new delivery, which will require an additional fee.

Click & collect

With IKEA Click and collect, you can place an order online and collect it from our warehouse in Kauptún. We are open for pick ups every day between 11-20.

We charge a small picking fee for the Click and collect service. This is so we can keep the product price low. At IKEA, the cost of collecting products is not included in the product price. IKEA is primarily a self-service store; customers pick up the products themselves and assemble them. That way they get the lowest price. It takes time and manpower to gather products for customers, and that's why the service costs extra. IKEA always offers the best possible prices for products and services.

How Click and collect works

• Put your desired items in your online shopping cart.
• During check-out, select the Click and collect option.
• We gather your items as quickly as possible; it may take up to 48 hours.
• When we’ve notified you, you can collect your order from our warehouse in Kauptún 4.
• The picking fee is 1,450 ISK
• The minimum amount for a Click and collect order is 15,000 ISK.
