Air quality is essential to our health and well-being but the air in our homes can be polluted. Particles from cooking or from outdoor air pollution getting inside, and gaseous pollutants, which can be given off by things like cleaning products, are just some common causes of polluted indoor air.
A pre-filter, which you can vacuum, captures larger dust particles and hairs. A particle filter targets stuff like smaller dust and pollen. A gas filter reduces odours and absorbs gaseous pollutants such as formaldehyde. They improve your indoor air quality, so you and your loved ones can breathe cleaner air.
One FÖRNUFTIG air purifier is optimised to purify the air in an area of 10 square metres. You can use it in larger rooms, but the purifying time will be longer. It has three working modes. Set it to sleep mode (1, the lowest mode) during the night and sleep undisturbed as it purifies your bedroom air.
With a TRÅDFRI wireless control outlet and a remote control, you can turn your air purifier on or off without leaving the sofa. If you also use a TRÅDFRI gateway, you can connect the outlet to the IKEA Home smart app. You can turn the air purifier on and off and schedule when it starts and stops with the app.
It’s easy to place it. Just make sure that the flow of air isn’t blocked by other objects and that no one faces the air outlet so they avoid any drafts. A stand is included for floor or table use, or you can mount it on a wall to save space. There’s a removable handle to help you carry it to another room.
Cleaner air is good for everyone, but especially those suffering from various conditions such as allergies and respiratory illnesses. The air purifier helps clean the air and can be used in most rooms including kid’s bedrooms – just put it out of reach of little hands and attach the cord to the wall securely.
The particle filter absorbs about 99.5 per cent of smaller airborne particles such as PM2.5 particles, dust and pollen (PM2.5 particles are small inhalable particles, that measure 0.1-2.5 micrometres). The gas filter, which uses activated carbon, targets gaseous pollutants and helps to reduce odours.
You should check the particle filter and the gas filter regularly and it’s recommended to replace them at least every six months. However, every home is different. Check filters regularly to see if they’re dirty. There’s an LED light that indicates when you need to check or possibly replace them, too.
